Nicholas Bentley studied furniture making at Parnham College in Dorset, England. Founded by John Makepeace, the college is a private institution, which accepts eleven students for an intensive two-year course of study in craftsmanship, art and design.

Graduates of Parnham are recognised internationally as creators of fine design and craftsmanship. Nicholas Bentley came to Parnham after a long career in electronic engineering, computer software and flight simulation. His work reflects his enthusiasm for his former and present métiers.
